There are four phases of DH project activity: initiation, development, active, and inactive. Ideally, the efforts put forth in each phase should be documented by project participants along the way.
Documenting DH work early in the process ensures that archiving in the final stages, when enthusiasm for a project may ebb, will be a natural conclusion to the project’s active phases and promote its scholarly longevity. Two pre-launch documentary processes support early archiving, each with a corresponding wizard. These include:
The Project Initiation Wizard promotes a thoughtful approach towards planning and future project maintenance.
The Project Milestone Wizard encourages documentation of successive segments of work as the project develops.
