The Catalogue Record

The Catalogue Record is a documentary product created to record all the metadata, or catalogue-able information, about your digital project. The Catalogue Record is similar to any bibliographic record found in a library catalogue, whether digital or analogue.

Once collected, your project’s metadata will be catalogued in a digital repository. If you are self-archiving, your information will be discoverable via online search engines like google scholar. If entered into an institutional repository, it may then appear in a library or union catalogue, like WorldCat.

Below is an example of a Catalogue Record from Fordham University’s French of Italy TimeMap. This link will take you to the “The Pilgrim’s Guide” where information about the project  (metadata) resides on the right hand-pane of the record.
